tulwar hilt kukri
Origin: Nepal / Rajasthan
Date: 19th Century
Size: 23.5 Inches
Ref: SD24002
Price: SOLD
An honest example of a true fighting Tulwar hilt Kukri.
The large hilt is of Rajput-type, decorated with a geometric diaper pattern in silver koftgari overlay, which remains almost entirely intact on both faces of the hilt.
The blade features a very broad, shallow fuller that creates a dished effect, with two crisp narrow fullers running along the thick spine of the blade.
The proportions of both hilt and blade provide an excellent weight and balance to this piece, clearly designed for combat purposes as opposed to many later Tulwar hilt Kukris which were produced for the tourist market.
Comes complete with a leather-over-wood scabbard.
