KAttI TYpe sword

Origin: Rajasthan

Date: 19th Century Hilt, Blade Possibly Earlier

Size: 36 inches

Ref: SD2303

Price: SOLD

A large and heavy example of a 19th century North Indian ‘Katti’ type sword. It can also be debated that the correct terminology for this sword is ‘Kirach’.

The steel hilt features a closed guard decorated with silver Koftgari overlay in floral design, which remains almost entirely intact.

The blade is of pattern welded steel with crisp deep fullering and a slight forward curve. An undeciphered makers/armoury stamp can be found on the ricasso block section.

Comes complete with its leather over wood scabbard.

In very good condition overall.
