A Wootz steel Katar from the second half of the 19th century, most likely produced in Jaipur or Dehli.
The steel hilt features dished side bars and is decorated with gold Koftgari overlay in floral design.
The blade has a sunken central panel of watered steel of low contrast with raised fullers terminating in an armour piercing diamond section tip.
Comes complete with a custom made leather over wood scabbard with solid silver chape.
